Laura Fortgang Article & Upcoming Book

Posted Apr 09 2009 5:41pm

bookgraphic I have a wonderful opportunity to review the book, “The Little Book on Meaning,” written by Laura Fortgang, before it will ever be released. This book is about meaning in our lives, why we crave it and how we create it. Laura is a nationally renowned speaker and life coach. She recently became ordained as an Interfaith Minister! While I am in the process of reading this book, I am going to share an article with you, written by Laura, called “Motherhood Brings Meaning, But Maybe Not How You Thought It Would .” This article is about how, “It’s easy to find meaningful moments as a mom, but it’s when things are tough that it seems we don’t know how to interpret what meaning is.” I think all mothers will be able to relate to this article. We all struggle with parenthood, and being a mother isn’t easy, it is a hard job. Laura explains how being a mother is difficult, it is hard to feel irrelevant or ineffective. She talks about her children, how she parents them and the meaning behind being a parent. I do believe this article is beneficial for everyone. When I read this article, I didn’t feel alone. I felt like every mother goes through some tough times with their kids, and not all parents are perfect. But, the meaning behind being a parent and what a child can teach you, is so rewarding. She even asked the question, “What if the greatest reward and meaning of being a mother is the growth our children force us to do?” You can read more about her article at FSB, and to find out more about Laura Fortgang, you can visit her website and be sure to check out all of her books. Also, check back here at PJ Mommy within the next month, to see our review on her new upcoming book, “The Little Book on Meaning.”
