Since my children were small I have sang a tune to them that I learned as a child. "Put Jesus first and Others second, and put Yourself at the end of the line, and you will find joy in your life with J-O-Y."
A few weeks ago my daughter, Dacey, commented, "Momma, you know, I think Daddy must have more JOY than anyone I know." "Why is that?" I asked. "Because He always puts Jesus and others before himself," was her reply.
Yes, he does.
Tommy works hard to provide for us to give me the blessing of being able to stay home with our children. He comes home and plays hard with our kids to give them security and memories. He opens my car door after all these years.. a simple but so sweet gesture. He tucks the kids into bed. He kisses their boo-boos and reads to them upon request. He is one in a million.
I can think of few things better for a child to say about their parent than that they have joy based upon the above standards.
I pray that JOY rule my life, heart, and home too. I pray that joy be expressed through my daily life in my thoughts, deeds, and actions.
