I'm so TIRED of these motherf&*?ing PLANES on this motherf&*?ing HIGHWAY

So! I had a meeting in New York today for work, so my colleague and I decided to just drive there and make it a day trip. No problem, right? Well. Sort of right. We planned to meet up at 9am at a rest stop along the good old Mass Pike and head to NY for our meeting. I left my house a little after 8, made great time - I didn't hit any traffic, so I got there early, grabbed a coffee, and met up with my colleague. We made it to New York in record time and even had time to get salads for lunch. Our meeting went super fantastic, and then we turned around and headed home.
As I got into my car which was sitting there waiting for me where I had left it earlier this morning, my cell rang and it's my mom who has just finished up her day of babysitting Charlotte as Mr. P had just arrived at home. Our phone call went more or less like this:
Me: How was Charlotte today? Mom: Good, good. She didn't nap that long, but she was in good spirits. Me: Oh good. Well thanks for watching her. Mom: No problem. Oh, FYI a plane just landed on 495 so you know...traffic might be a little heavy. Me: ? Mom: Did you hear me? Me: Um, a PLANE? Mom: Well probably a SMALL one. You know. Me: ...
No actually I DIDN'T know but what I DO know now is that I sat in traffic for about 30 minutes. I was going to take an alternate route but I? Am nosy and took 495 to try to catch a glimpse of said plane and by the time I got up to where it landed all that remained was 2 state police cruisers and a truck from the Environmental Protection Agency. Shockingly, nobody was hurt and that was that.
Alls well that ends well though, and I'm home and working from home tomorrow and hopefully will only have to deal with a minimum of driving and thus a minimum of traffic. I'm pretty tired so the weekend update will have to come tomorrow. Good night!
