I haven't been working much lately, mostly because I finished up my main projects before the holidays and I am waiting for a few new projects to begin. As such I don't have a whole lot to write about. I will tell you, though, that I took my daughter to the pediatrician this morning because in addition to her gross hivey rash, she woke up coughing and covered in snot. I do love her pediatrician, but I ask him to have a look at her rash and a $15 co-pay later all I get is "huh, Erin, I really don't know WHAT that is."
Apparently it's the aftermath of a virus (which I already knew, thanks dr. google) and perhaps a new food allergy. Or a reaction to the cold weather. Or eczema. What it really is, I think, is perhaps all of the above and the miserable fact that she's inherited my super-sensitive skin. Lucky gal. She's also holding steady at 25 lbs and nearly 36 inches tall.
So, I think what I will do is fill you in on five things I am loving right now, in the absence of anything substantive to post.
1. This spring jacket from Gap.
I wanted a cheap jacket and this one will do nicely. I bought it in green and I love it. In fact, once they go on sale I'll probably pick up another one in a different color. I went up a size due to, you know, the pregnancy and I really needn't have. It's plenty roomy and it buttons high - and is sort of a-line - so it is *perfect* if you happen to be pregnant like I am. I am going to wear it already because despite the fact that we are currently experiencing sub-zero temps here in the Bean, it is going to be 60 degrees on Monday. Jesus.
2. Avocado rolls.
I could eat them morning, noon and night every day. Instead I eat them at night on Fridays. And sometimes for lunch during the week. Yum.
3. Body wash and shampoo from Whole Foods 365 store brand. No pictures, but get this - $1.99 for each - I got both the body wash and the shampoo in herbal mint and grapefruit and I love them. How can you beat $1.99? Under TWO BUCKS. The grapefruit is my favorite - and the mint isn't bad at all, but it does have a bit of a lingering herbal smell that I don't love. But hey, for $1.99 I will use it in good health.
Giant ruby red grapefruit with a sprinkle of turbinado for breakfast.
5. This crib-bedding set at PBK. I'm not sure what I'm going to do in terms of decorating the new baby's nursery - I may just re-use all of Charlotte's stuff, but it all depends on whether we move or not before the baby comes. If we stay here, Charlotte's stuff doesn't match her new big-girl room. If we move, I could make it work. At any rate, this sure is cute, no?
