Every year millions of couples suffer with infertility. Fertility treatments can cost as much as $20,000 or even more. During these tough economic times a lot of couples just can not afford this option. Adoption is also very expensive; especially if you are adopting a baby overseas.
After going through years of unsuccessful infertility treatments, Erica and her husband A.J Schlaefer began the adoption process. In June of 2008 they adopted a beautiful baby boy.
Erica knows how complicated adoption and fertility treatments can be for couples so she decided to start Parenthood for Me, Inc, to help couples who are suffering from infertility start a family.
" Parenthood for Me, Inc. is a not for profit corporation." She states on her website. "Having a family is fundamental to the human experience. It should not come down to how big your bank account is. Our goal is to provide emotional support, educational tools, and financial support to those adopting or pursuing Assisted Reproductive Technology to try and conceive. We hope to ease some of the burden bestowed on people who desperately want to be parents."
The website provides several different resources for couples who need financial assistance to build their family. These resources include: Grants for adoption and fertility treatments and links to infertility and adoption resources.
