Hard Wood Floors, Hard Work

Posted Oct 17 2011 12:00am

A couple of weeks ago I peeled up the 1940′s linoleum to reveal beautiful hardwood floors.  That snowballed into stripping the floor down to the raw wood and tearing out cabinets.

It’s still hard to believe, but I’m getting a new kitchen!  Somebody please pinch me!

Yesterday, the fruits of my {okay, mostly my husband’s} labor was evident.  After two coats of polyurethane, I have a kitchen floor I can’t stop staring at.  Seriously.  It’s gorgeous!

It has me thinking that instead of carpeting the two upstairs bedrooms and family room, we should refinish those floors as well.

Did I really just say that out loud?

Thinking about it, I’d much rather convert pdf to word than refinish the entire first floor of my house.  Then I look at that brought-back-to-life 70 year old floor and I’m amazed at how beautiful it is.

Except we wouldn’t start in until spring.  It’s much to cold to keep the windows open all night and these fumes are starting to get to me.

*The story is mine but link has been provided.*
