I would like to think that I wanted my Halloween post to stand out from the rest and that is why I am running so "behind", but I would not be truthful with you dear reader s. Things have just been so busy this weekend and with The Chicken getting bigger I am trying to savor every moment of it.
This year Giggles did not get a costume and did not trick or treat. It was something I didn't think about until I was getting Chicken ready for my mother to take her to the Annual Kiwanis Halloween Parade here in town. I realized that she hadn't even asked to get a costume. I asked her why and she replied that she was growing up. When you think you are too old for free candy, well then I guess you are really growing up. (I wish she would impart some of this wisdom with the adults in the area who come to my house to trick or treat, but that is another story)
I wasn't as sad as I thought I would be with Trick or Treat coming to a close for Giggles. I was about her age when I didn't trick or treat anymore, so it wasn't a big thing. The Chicken says she isn't sure if she is going next year since she will be in middle school. Don't know if I am ready for that!
Here are some shots from our annual Halloween parade, where the marching band comes and take the kids around the block at the school and of trick or treat.
