SO the boys and I headed out to Grapefest for a couple hours this morning and had a good time! Grapefest is the largest Wine Festival in the Southwest held in a quaint little town called Grapevine about 20 minutes from us. We mainly hung out in the Kid Zone and did some walking, art browsing, wine tasting (haha! just kidding on the wine, though I sure was tempted seeing all those yummy booths!) Lots of cool arts, rides and activities going on, it got really hot - really fast and the boys crabbed out before long, but it was fun while it lasted! I'm just happy to be able to get out of the house with them and do fun things! I hope to go back with a girlfriend this evening to partake in the tastings though and live music events! :) I wish Brian and I could go together sans kiddoes for some fun but it's hard not having any family around to watch the boys for us and babysitters are too $$ for us right now, we never get a date night unless we have family in town, which is like twice a year LOL!
Entering the festival!
Watching some grape stompers
On our way into the kid zone!
Woohoo! Petting Farm! Brandon came unglued when he saw the ducks that didn't run from him LOL
Fountain fun and activity tables!
Aiden yelling that "It's HOT out here!"
Aiden's first Cotton Candy sugar rush!
Watching the cool old trains, sorry about the blur! It was so hot my camera started melting LOL
Well we will wait and see what happens this weekend with Hurricane Ike pounding the Texas coast! Galveston holds alot of fun summertime memories for me, I sure hope my favorite little Texas beach getaway stays safe and all the people followed the mandatory evacuations there, they are expecting a direct hit. :( Also very worried about Houston, keeping all the families on the coast in our prayers! We are expecting Ike to come thru as a Tropical Storm here in Dallas tomorrow! I sure hope it will hold off long enough for the Heroes For Children 5K to still take place in the morning! We'll see what happens!
