I get much less computer time on the weekends when it's just Kayla and me; but I'm finally getting my gratitude post up! I wonder how much I'll get to blog the week after next as Kayla will be off for 10 days. Yes
TEN days! She's usually off on Wed, but for some reason this week they have school on Wed and are off on Fri. So starting with Fri, the weekend, Mon-Tue "fall break", Wed-Fri Thanksgiving break, and then the weekend again...that equals 10 straight days of no school. I wouldn't be surprised if I pull all my hair out! LOL
Now on to the things I'm grateful for:
1. Our MOPS group did an Antiquities fundraiser; I'm grateful it went so well and we made a lot of money for our group. I'm also grateful that we sold enough coupons so all the Steering team members could get a free package...yay! They're kind of expensive, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for a package of pictures this year!
2. Parents were invited to school to eat a "Thanksgiving luncheon" with their kids; I met Kayla in her classroom and went to lunch with her. She really seemed to enjoy having me there and I enjoyed seeing a little part of her day and how she interacts with the other kids and follows along with the routines. She seems to have such fun there.
3. I belong to
Vocalpoint and several months ago I participated in a research project where I tried out NoodleNet and kept a diary of each time I/Kayla used it. I forgot all about the reward I was supposed to receive for participating since it was months ago; so I was very surprised, and grateful, to get a $50 Target gift card this week!
4. I mentioned I'm authorized 15-minute morale calls and I get 18 of these "units." I'm grateful these can be used how I want and after 15 minutes we don't get cut off automatically. If I go over 15 min that just means I'm using another unit. So if I wanted to talk to Joe for an hour, I could, I just have to realize that is 4 units. Last night we talked for 1/2 an hour and it was nice, I guess I had a lot to say!
5. I'm grateful for the nice day Kayla and I had yesterday (despite the fact that she wouldn't eat anything for lunch
or dinner...sigh...). Both grandmas called yesterday asking if we did a Lowe's project and if I posted any pictures yet! Yes we did do a project - a turkey recipe holder - and here is a picture:

She had the most fun coloring it with the markers afterwards. Gas is now over $3, so instead of wasting a trip in town for this quick project we went to the zoo afterwards. Kayla really enjoys feeding the ducks there, so it was nice day!
