For those of you who have followed this blog for some time you know that we are gone almost every weekend and that this was going to be our first weekend in our city since Memorial Day, yes I know quite a long time but we were looking forward to it and made plans around town! It was a great weekend and I could not have asked for a better Saturday night….so here is a recap (for those interested)!

On Friday night, we attended the home opener of our city’s hockey team with one of the partners from my office and his wife! Now most of you who read this would think we went so Aaron could get his sports fix, WRONG, this was his FIRST hockey game ever BUT I love hockey. Those who read this because it is a great way to keep up with me because I don’t get back down to St. Louis very much, know that I would take tickets to the Blues WHENEVER they were offered or would scrape up the money to go to a game. I love hockey! Yes, I know keep scratching your heads those of you who really know me (I faint at the sight of blood, cannot watch action movies where people are killed or hurt very badly as I have WAY too much empathy for those people, and advocate that violence is not the way to handle any situation, etc…). I guess hockey is my outlet for all of that. I firmly believe that at least one GOOD fight per period is the way to go (and in this case even more as my firm sponsors the penalty box for the home team) and that the game is made by the battles over the puck! So anyway our team won and we had a great time! I even managed to keep it all in check since I was sitting next to one of my bosses! Afterwards we went to have pie and coffee and I even enjoyed that time, and the best part was we came home and slept in our own bed, not one at someone else’s house or a hotel!

Saturday, I was finally able to CLEAN my house and not just pick it up…we even got out the steam cleaner for the rugs! And then we had some really good friends over for dinner. This is my shout out to John and Jessica (this is your chance to comment Jessica)! We had so much fun! I made dinner and we talked all night about everything! I could not have asked for better therapy than being able to dish like all women do! Jessica and John are expecting, and WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER FOR THEM…we cannot wait to bring them dinner after the baby is born, and offer to baby sit so they can go and do fun things and we pray that our own child who should not be that much older/younger than theirs will play happily with their child! We made plans to attend a hockey game with them as well as a basketball game of Aaron, John and I’s beloved Illini, against another Big Ten team! And thanks to John, we are going to work on the house November 17 and 18 th, I want to see if we can finish our bedroom and get major things done on the nursery…Jessica tell him to come and to bring anyone else who wants to help (and you can come and chat with me while I strip wallpaper!). Oh yeah, tell John to call Aaron on Monday, he would really like to make sure that John knows he is welcome at the men’s study and even offer him a ride if he wants it.

Today is for relaxing, catching up on Dr. Phil (a serious addiction of mine), and possibly a trip to the gym…This has been a great weekend!
