Jeggings. Her daddy couldn't resist them.
I'm not much for shopping. At all. But the kids needed a few things to fill out their summer wardrobes. So I did the unthinkable (at least for me) and went to an outlet mall a little more than an hour from the apartment. I wanted to get the kids out and I didn't wanna pay an arm and a leg for clothes for them since I know they'll only wear them for about a season or two. Thankfully, both kids were really good. I found lots of great deals for both kids and didn't pay full price for a single thing. For Michigan momma's, Great Lakes Crossing is the shit!
Here they are about five minutes in...
And five hours in...
I found something for myself too. I rarely spend on myself, and when I do, it better be a damn good deal or I ain't gettin' it.
This bag, I've been coveting it forever. I saw this at Spencer's when Franky was about Marija's age but I couldn't justify spending $40 on a bag when I already have Skip Hops. And while I love my Skip Hop bags, they are pretty big and just aren't practical for quick trips. They're better (for me) for long trips. Trips to visit Grandma or to the zoo. But not so much for the grocery store or to drop Ry off at work.
I saw it again today in a clearance box. For $9.97. You better believe I scooped it up and high-tailed it to the register. It's so me and fits all of the essentials. Pictured are pull-ups, diapers, a change of clothes for each kid, wallet, phone, baby wipes, Ipod, M&M's (for potty training) and coupons. The only thing missing is my phone and a sippy cup, which both fit on top perfectly. You don't even know how happy I am about this bag. I'm all for convenience and I love me a good messenger bag. I sometimes feel guilty about not always using my Skip Hops cuz they're not cheap, but they're just too bulky for quick trips. Especially when I'm walking/carrying both kids up and down three flights of stairs on my own. I've designated my Studio for long trips to visit my side of the family, who live more than an hour away and require full-day visits. The Duo is designated for trips that require the double stroller cuz it's easier to reach things with the outer pockets. But for quick trips, my new favorite bag is this one. And Monroe is a close second. What I love about it most is that it's a messenger, which is my favorite type of bag. It's black and gray striped, which I love. And it has a star on it, which is my favorite shape. But aside from that, I like the outer pocket, which houses a wipes container, coupons and M&Ms. And inside, there are two pockets which are the perfect size for my wallet/BCP (birth control pills (mini pills)) and Franky's Ipod. And the main compartment holds a lot, which is nice. Mostly, I love that it was cheap and it holds everything I need it to without being too bulky or too heavy.
I'm all about deal-finding lately. If it's not on sale or clearance, I won't take a second look at it. We got Franky these for less than $15 shipped (we used coupon code BARNESNOBLE). I've never been much for online shopping, but Ry and I have been really trying to stick to our budget so we're not short at the end of the month. When I know that Franky or Marija need something and I haven't seen good deals in stores, I go online. I can't wait for them to get here so I can see them on him!
I promise not to get annoying with stuff like this, but could you pretty please vote for my girl here ? It only takes a minute and I promise to return the favor if ever needed =)
