This morning the boys had their first trip to the dentist! Now that our dental has kicked in, I have been anxious to get Brandon in to get help for some of the issues he is having with his top teeth. Some of the chemo's he was on were hard on his baby teeth as they were coming in. You may notice in his pictures his smile appears rather "fangish and chipped" I love his beautiful smile but we need to get his baby teeth healthy before they damage the adult teeth.
We were referred to a really awesome pedi dentist - Dr. Kelli, she and her staff were very sweet and caring to help ease Brandon's obvious fear, poor little guy starting screaming the second we were called back and he saw the scrubs and dental chairs/tables/overhead lights. He was terrified! :( The office is set up really nice and open, there are toys and things to do everywhere! The hygentists were all so playful and helpful and won the boys over very quickly, what a great place for kids. Aiden loved it of course, he is always Mr. Smiley Pants and had no fear jumping up on the chair for his exam. Everything looks good with Aiden's teeth! His back molars are starting to come in and then he'll have a full set of chompers! He'll have his first cleaning after he turns 3.
Brandon's teeth have all come in, even the molars! Brandon was not too thrilled to be examined, but I held him on my lap as Dr. Kelli poked around in there and he was really happy when that was done! We are going to come up with a plan on what to do with the broken top front teeth, not sure what this will be quite yet, she has a call into our transplant team as to what medications/filling stuff etc she will be allowed to use and then we will go from there. She had mentioned that some of the filling stuff they use are not healthy for a transplant patients but we would come up with something!

Aiden waiting patiently reading a magazine

Playing toys and watching other kids get their teeth cleaned, realizing it's not such a scary place afterall!

Aiden & Dr. Kelli

Brandon doing puzzles while Aiden was being checked out. No pics of brandon being checked out! LOL Those would not be pretty!!

The boys didn't want to leave after we were done! They were having so much fun at the end I had to drag them out! My arms were full of stickers, balloon animals, rubber balls, toys and sugar free suckers! What a cool place! :)
