Eating Out Review – The Hunsworth, Table Table

Posted Oct 06 2010 11:00pm

We visited The Hunsworth in Cleckheaton a couple of weeks ago for our Sunday lunch. It is part of the Table Table chain.

When we arrived we were introduced to our waitress Amy who explained the different meal deals on the menus and the specials. Amy was very enthusiastic and bubbly. She was clearly not suffering the after effects of too many gin and tonics from the night before like some people *COUGH*.

The children were both given an activity book and some crayons which kept them occupied whilst we decided what to eat and in-between courses. The activity book was had lots to do, better than usual offerings of a picture to colour and a wordsearch!

The menus were straight forward; A main menu, a Sunday special menu and the children’s menu.

The children’s menu was actually put together by children and was fairly extensive.  There was the usual nuggets and chips but also lots of other foods and children could choose a child sized roast dinner too.

We thought the food was really well priced and there are deals running all the time.  The Sunday deal is 2 courses for £9.99, or 3 courses for £11.99.  The kids menu deal was a main and a pud for £4.99.  During the week there is a 2 for £10 deal running Monday-Friday.  You can use and collect Nectar points too with the Table Table chain.

The pub itself is in a small industrial estate and attached to a Travel Inn.  It’s decorated really well, there was plenty of space between tables and it felt really cosy. The outside of the pub really doesn’t do it justice and if I didn’t know what it was like inside, I would, and have in the past, driven past without going in.

We didn’t have to wait too long before courses and the service was really good.  It’s a thumbs up from the Driver family.  Next time we go out with our extended family for Sunday lunch we wouldn’t think twice about going to The Hunsworth.

What we thought …

The 4 year old “I liked my ice cream”

The Teenager “Lovely jubbly, can we go again?”

The 6 year old “Excellent. Yummy, yummy in my tummy”

The Husband “Slightly higher than average pub chain foood”

Me “I’d definitely go there again, the price was right and the food was great”
