Dove Hair Care *review*

Posted Jun 03 2010 11:26am

As I have mentioned before I won a trip to see Glee- live on stage in Arizona with Janice from 5 Minutes for Mom ... but I couldn't go because I couldn't get my passport in time. Sad.

But the wonderful folks at the Dove Hair Care Glee for All campaign very generously sent me a consolation prize of a Glee Season 1 Road to Sectionals DVD and Dove damage therapy shampoo and conditioner . They did not ask me to review these products... but since I think it was so nice of them to send me a consolation prize I figured I'd tell you all about them anyway :)

You can read my Glee review HERE .

I have been using Dove Damage Therapy Daily Moisture Shampoo and Intensive Repair Conditioner for the past couple weeks.

Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner:

Although most women only associate hair damage with visible symptoms like split ends, breakage and frizz - damage can also occur inside the hair strand. Created to address this, NEW Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner, with Fiber Active technology, helps reconstruct hair from the inside and makes it more beautiful on the outside.

Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner system works to strengthen hair and prevent damage.
• Fiber Actives penetrate deep inside the hair strand to help reconstruct damaged proteins
• Patented Micro Moisture serum continues to care for the outside of hair - strengthens and
nourishes hair from root to tip by sealing lifted cuticles and smoothing hair.

Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner:

Dove Damage Therapy has been reinvented to meet women’s specific hair needs and provide advanced care and repair for beautiful hair. The line includes a new look, new fragrance and new formula.

Look for Dove Damage Therapy System products in new, soft satin white bottles that are modern and premium-looking with silver accents. It also has an updated scent that includes fruity, floral and woody fragrance notes:

•Fruity - apricot, green apple, coconut milk
•Floral - linden blossom, jasmine, ginger lily
•Woody - sandalwood, rosewood

The improved formula contains Fiber Actives and continues to include Micro Moisture serum. It helps strengthen hair against breakage, split ends, dry, unmanageable hair, lack of body and even static.

I don't have any "before" and "after" pictures... because honestly I don't know that you could SEE any difference at all. BUT I can sure FEEL a difference in my hair.

My hair is naturally curly and tends to be on the frizzy side of life...
see? Frizzy. I told you. But my daughter sure is a cutie pie even when she makes funny faces:)

Anyway, I have loved Dove for a long time because of their campaign for real beauty . I think it is a brilliant and much needed program. If you aren't familiar with it you should be! You can find out more on the Dove website.

I like the light scents of both the shampoo and conditioner. I hate products that are heavily scented - I just find it overwhelming. But these smelled pretty.

I have used intensive repair type hair products before and I have found most of them really weighed down my hair and made it feel greasy and icky way too quickly. Fortunately I didn't find that at all with Dove damage therapy . They both claim to be "weightless formula" and I think that Dove did an excellent job of doing that. My hair feels soft and lovely.

My hair isn't super damaged since I don't really do anything to it to damage it except for the occasional blow-dry and straighten so I can't say for sure if it would work for really damaged hair. But I would definitely say it is worth a try!
