On Saturday FB and DB had a new experience .... dance class. Being an old ex, untalented yet extremely enthusiastic dancer I was just as excited, if not more, than the boys were.
In preparation we had been cutting dance moves on the kitchen rug all week long. FB had perfected the drop spin touch the floor turn-a-round, while DB had a mean Egyptian inspired head movement going on. Get down and dirty !!
Miss Amy and Miss Kirri held the classes attention while the Wiggles beat out their ever popular children's music. Shame my boys are more Hi-5 than Wiggles ...
Anyway the half hour came and went all too soon. DB was a shadow to FB for the entire 30 minutes.
On exiting the building I asked FB what he had learnt ... with all the honest earnesty of a five year old he looks up and says to me " The Tango .... well at least I think I did". Then followed it up with "I thought I was going to learn a pirouette".
While dance class turned out to be a bit more play group than stage craft I am still none the less keen to see them pursue it for a term of eight lessons. The joy I felt at watching my two darling lads do a together activity that gave each a sense of accomplishment was priceless ...
We can leave the pirouettes and demi bras until next year .... now go rock around the clock ... xoxoxo
