Ok so for weeks now I have been talking about how my friend Alison and I have been working on opening an Etsy store, well we FINALLY did it! Yep we approached as if we were opening an actual business and did not just jump in – we have been sharing descriptions, researching what we hoped to sell, making examples to show to each other and see how long it took, comparing notes and editing what each other have done (and if you can believe this we have not killed each other yet!). We did much of it over e-mail – I think 14 or 15 e-mails went back and forth after midnight Saturday night and the same number Sunday and Monday! Trust me we have thought through every step we have made and double checked with each other along the way (can I tell you that I wish law firms worked like this – or at least that the people were as nice to deal with).
So now that I have your interest peaked – please go and check out TWO places (1) our store Cutest Baby on the Block and (2) the corresponding blog Cutest Baby on the Blog!!!! The blog goes with the store and is where we hope to promote not only Cutest Baby on the Block but other Etsy stores as well so I know many of you have Etsy stores – go there and read up on what we will do to help get the word out if you will help us out. There will be a lengthy post on Wednesday about what we want out of the stores we feature (which is not much) and what we will do for them! Also the thing you have all been looking forward to the most - as part of our GRAND opening we are having a giveaway! The details are in the first post – but we are giving away $30 in store credit!
Alison will be introducing herself on that blog tomorrow – but for those who have been following me forever and know that I talk about my friend who gave birth the SAME day we met Little Man and Little Princess – this is her! When we go to see her and the weather is nice we walk – she lives that close. I so hope that our little girls are best friends someday or that Little Man thinks her Cutie is adorable! Oh the girls they both have to choose from Little Princess for friends and Little Man for dates!
So go and check out the blog and the store – be sure to enter the contest and there is stuff in the store for boys and girls, even if the girl stuff far outweighs the boy stuff. Also because we are still waiting for some pieces needed to finish a project or two in the mail check back all week at the store - my favorite item that I am making cannot be posted until those pieces arrive! (And I am VERY proud of myself as I designed the blog background etc…and it cost us $0.00 and we like it - two important things!)
