Coping With Sick Children

Posted Jan 15 2009 4:57pm

One of things I have found to be the hardest during my few years in parenting is dealing with sick children. Not because of the fussiness, but rather the inability to do anything to help make their suffering go away. Sure you can give them some Tylenol or Motrin for their aches and pains or fevers, but how do you assure them that this will pass and hopefully sooner rather than later.

One of my favorite websites to look to for advice when my child is sick is Gurgle. They offer great tips on How to cope with preschool illnesses and how Dressing toddler for winter can help them from certain illnesses.

On Gurgle, you will find information about some of the most common diseases affecting school-aged children (cold, flu, head lice), how to treat these illnesses and the various ways to prevent your child from obtaining the specific illness or possibly spreading it to others. The best advice I can give to parents that they should definitely pass along to their children is teaching your children how to wash their hands and the importance of why we wash our hands. Just think of how many germs you can eliminate just by washing your hands?

I have found Gurgle to be of great use when I needed answers. I hope you will be able to say the same!
