We woke up yesterday morning with our normal routine. Jason got Cruz all ready for breakfast while I prepared pears for Cruz. I had given him some Cherrios so he wasn’t hysterical while I got his breakfast ready. Pears have been his favorite baby food up until now. He loves it and it’s been a great breakfast choice for us. He eats a lot in the mornings.
So I made the pears, handed them over to Jason (who was on feeding duty this particular morning) and I went into the office to work for a little bit while Cruz was occupied with his dada.
No more than 30 seconds after I walked out of the room I hear Jay say, “Jess, he won’t eat this.” I was kinda weirded out, but thought maybe Cruz was preoccupied with the Cheerios. So I came back in and gave Cruz a bite of the pears (he actually managed one bite for me). He made an awful face and wouldn’t eat them! I didn’t really have anything, besides graham crackers, that would qualify as breakfast foods. We did have some blueberries so I cut some of those up and he ate a bunch of those.
So needless to say, I think Cruz is actually moving on from baby food a lot sooner than I had anticipated! All day yesterday he would take a couple bites of baby food and then he would want nothing to do with it! So i fed him cut up peaches, macaroni & cheese, chicken nuggets, turkey sandwich meat, tortilla- this is over the course of the entire day. The only bummer is that I JUST made a bunch of baby food and it’s in the freezer. I KNEW that was going to happen- I totally had a feeling. But he’s been so against ‘big people food’ that I thought for sure I had one more round of baby food before he made the switch.
There he goes keeping me on my toes again!
On another note, Cruz said Mamma yesterday!! It was so cute and the way he pronounces his M’s is just adorable. He kept crawling over to me while we were playing on the floor, and while we was crawling he would just say “Mamma! Mamma!”.

It’s the best. He’s the best.
