Children’s Book Review: Ten Hats: A Counting Book, by Carolyn Mott Ford

Who wears that hat? That’s the question asked of children in the charming book, Ten Hats: A Counting Book . Ten hats hang on the rack on the wall. Who wears the yellow hard hat? Construction worker Nat, of course! And who wears that crown that sparkles and glows? Why, it’s Ballerina Nina twirling on her toes!
Children count down from ten hats all the way to one. And the rhyming text sounds like a song! I love the ending of the book: Who wears that shiny, flat cap we see? (It’s a graduation cap.) The answer: You do -- and you can be anything you want to be!
This lovely book by Carolyn Mott Ford is accompanied by fun and colorful illustrations by Jack Gordon that kids will love to look at. They’ll learn about counting, hats, occupations, and being the best they can be! I highly recommend Ten Hats for your family’s reading pleasure!
