Do you want to make a game for change? Now you can with the AMD GFT Toolkit. On January 26th, 2008, AMD announced their launch for Let the Games Begin: A Toolkit 4 Making Social Issue Games. This toolkit helps nonprofit organizations and others who wants to know what it takes to make a successful social issue game. This toolkit is designed to take gaming beyond just entertainment, it inspires teenagers (ages 13 to 18) to learn by creating digital games with social content from every day life. The AMD Changing Game has shown many accomplishments by allowing the youth to express their views on the world, whether it be human rights, poverty, public health, or economics. The toolkit is free of charge and available for download at Games for Change. Keep in mind that this toolkit is not a manual for making a game, but it is an overview of the game-making process. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for teenagers and definitely beats the alternatives to other games. It is very educational and allows your teenager to interact and express himself/herself.
