We’re totally getting into the “experimental” posts now. I’ve given you all I know in regards to budgeting already. :) These things are what we’re using with our kids right now… and we have yet to see how much therapy we owe them.
Only my eldest - 8 years old gets an allowance. She gets $3/ week. It is NOT linked to chores - those are expected without rewards, well, other than her warm bed, all the clothes in her closet, hot food prepared whenever she likes, and more toys than she can clean up. So don’t get me started on the “real world” rewards of chores. We’ve got those covered. Anyhow… off my high horse.
For a moment.
She pretty much gets $3 for ease of separating it. I thought $.75 was a little low. lol
Here’s her categories:

Saving

Spending
And “Giving” was eaten by the digital monsters. Sorry about them.
How to?
We used 2 pieces of 12×12 paper, to cover a box and lid. Made an “X” cardboard divider in the box, and cut out slots on top of each section.
Oh! You mean, how to teach kids to do stuff we don’t? Um. I haven’t gotten that far yet. I need to hear from those who have taught their kids to make at least some responsible choices with their money. I’m all ears!
Happy Weekend!
