Brenda's Book Biggie

Posted Dec 23 2008 9:33pm
Hello there ... as regular readers know one of my fav blogging outcomes (ain't that a crappy corporate word ...but fits here - I could have used 'flow on effect' for a really icky feeling ... I am out of work yet I cling to work-like lingo - hmmmm now what does that say ...) is the connections and doors that are opened by welcoming people I have never met (not wanting to use the 'strangers' tag here - too last decade ...).

I refer here to the lovely Crystal, who makes the effort and leaves a comment on the Nadine post. So as usual with first time comments I normally follow the click back trail and see who we have on board.

I was thrilled to find Crystal is a book reviewer, critic and all round written word lover.

As you may recall I hanker after a writing 'career' (using the term career loosely here - just indulge me ...). After some reading I click thru to this delightful blog and voila I am now telling you to go here and enter a divine book give-away.

I am so taken in with Brenda's cover art that I can't wait to have a read. Given that the subject matter- this one being "Scot on the Rocks" - subtitled, "How I survived my ex boyfriend's wedding with my dignity ever-so-slightly intact" sounds rather interesting too, I am sure I will end up reading the novel, whether I win or not.

Brenda's web page says ....

A native New Yorker, Brenda Janowitz has had a flair for all things dramatic since she played the title role in her third grade production of Really Rosie. When asked by her grandmother if the experience made her want to be an actress when she grew up, Brenda responded, “An actress? No. A writer, maybe.

Anyways see how you fair - I just thought it was a great fit for our own week of creative give aways. Cheers le
