Book 3 in the Lords of the Underworld series is just as amazing as the first two. I have to say the personal sorrow that the main warrior in this book, Rhys, goes through is just heart wrenching. Rhys houses the demon pain. which means he cannot feel romantically inclined without pain. Whether he is causing or receiving.
Rhys learned that instead of causing pain to quiet the demon, he can receiving pain and it would suffice. He is constantly inflicting pain, throwing himself out windows etc. Until he meets the one woman who quiets the demon and allows him to feel something other than pain. This is truly an unique love story. You learn the main female character has more than what meets the eye with her personality. Her constant struggle to carry her own weight, and not be forced to become a victim any longer definitely reaches the girl power points for some readers.
But the constant struggle hate love/relationship between she and the warrior is amazing. Many of us have been in those types of relationships where it truly is a thin line between love and hate. The poor woman can only think she has Stockholm Syndrome. Heck, if I went through what she did and surrounded by nothing but gorgeous male warriors…I don’t know if I wouldn’t end up with Stockholm Syndrome myself.
You learn more about the warriors background in here and more about the legends behind them. You also get more information on the pantheons they have to deal with.
