I have renamed this book Repetitious Bullshit, as that’s what I felt as I read the same lines over and over and over again. Now, according to the author, ( who has a PH.D. ) everyone plays this bullshit game, and though I don’t agree with this , maybe SOME people do, but to read it like this was almost like reading a stock page.
Just for fun I tried to count how many times the writer had used the word bullshit or BS as he finally wrote it as he must have gotten too tired to spell it out after so many times using it, and I quit counting as I was then on bullshit overload.
I can actually say that I read this book cover to cover, and after phoning a friend so I wouldn’t jump, I started this review, and I can honestly say I can’t’ remember most of what I read, as none of it flowed right or stuck in my brain. To be fair, there were a few examples of situations with his patients and maybe they were real, but instead of using the word bullshit, I would use the words manipulative, sarcastic, or downright abusive when describing these people’s actions. Their reasoning behind their behavior at times was laughable.
The author broke the chapters down into different bullshit titles, such as Emotional Bullshit, Internal Bullshit, Emotional Bullshit and Dating, Emotional Bullshit and Long Term Marriage, Emotional Bullshit at the Workplace!!! And on and on it went. Wow, that’s a lot of bullshit, don’t you think? Now do I think anyone can be helped from this book? I personally don’t think so, but then I don’t have a PH.D. I do know I don’t want to be put into the author’s bullshit category box of reasoning and was insulted when he put everyone into this category. I don’t bullshit people, and I definitely know when someone is bullshitting me. Oh, by the way I used the word 15 times!!!!
