My nephew had asthma, and as a result of that he was always gasping or wheezing for breath whenever the kids went out to play. So Saturday outside playing touch football became a chore, and he usually ended up in the house sucking on the end of his inhaler, and feeling left out. This book helps kids with asthma realize that they are not the only ones and if diagnosed and treated with the right medicine that they can have a normal childhood and play with their friends and not feel left out or like a weirdo because they have to stop playing because there asthma is acting up or they become short of breath from playing hard, and have to stop and go home. It’s a sweet book and I think younger kids will get something from it as it tells about them. I loved it and I will pass it on to friends who have kids with asthma. The book also has a great website and you can join for free at www.aanma.org Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics, it’s a great site!
