“We cannot hold a torch to light another’s path without brightening our own.” Ben Sweetland
Thank you Connie for this award and the affirmation and encouragement it gives me (especially as a new blogger who wonders if I’m -”doing it right”). I am finding blogging more fufilling than I expected or imagined. I love to write, but my favorite part of blogging is the community of wonderful people I am connecting with, fellow bloggers, loyal readers and the good people who stop by for a visit.
I consider Connie one of my blogging “gurus”. In her blog, A Chronic Life, she writes candidly about her experiences with multiple chronic illnesses. Reading her blog brings me comfort and affirmation. I often think, ”Wow, she goes through that too and she has the guts to write about it. I’m not the only one!” Connie also writes five other blogs about different topics. Recently she shared her expertise on blog/talk radio to help those of us new to blogging.
Connie, thank you again for my first blog award. Now I have the honor of passing it on. I give the “Brilliante Weblog award” to the following blogs. These writers use their own adversity and pain, to create blogs that brighten and enlighten the often bumpy road that people living with illness travel.
Joyful Wrecks- This is a beautiful blog, full of poetry, art, photographyand Trudy’s personal experience as she lives her journey with cancer. She shares the tough realities of illness, yet her love of life exudes through her posts and poetry.
CanaryReport –Multiple Chemical Sensitivies accompanied my illness from it’s beginnings. It wreaks havoc not only on a body’s ability to function but on a person’s social life. Commonly used products such as fabric softener, dryer sheets and perfume, cause severe symptoms. Through the years, it has been hard to find good MCS information and support online, until I found Susie’s weblog! Susie combines, up to date research and information, and personal experiences into an incredibly comprehensive and enjoyable site. She is dedicated to education and advocacy for all of us canaries (”canaries in a coal mine”). Thank you Susie.
Musings for the Soul – Lynne is a gifted Life Coach who works with people challenged by chronic illness/pain. She truly ”gets” it as she’s been there herself. Lynne coaches with compassion and humor (and convenient for those of us who are ill, she does this over the phone.) She writes her blog on a diversity of topics, including illness. Her writing style provokes thought and at the same time can make you LOL. Getting Closer to Myself –Leslie, a brave young woman and graduate student uses her blog to advocate for those with autoimmune diseases. She shares her personal experiences with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis and the reality of navigating through daily life and the higher education system. Leslie’s writing is refreshing and real.
