So once we get Annabelle potty trained through the day, the next step will be getting her to stay dry at night. I really didn’t want to use pull up nappies because they still are nappies so I was thrilled to receive an email from Lucky Possum asking me if I was interested in trying out their waterproof mattress protector.
The Lucky Possum waterproof mattress protector saves time and washing because it is designed to be laid on the bottom sheet, with the tails of the protector tucked in. This way, the mattress and the sheets stay dry and if your child (or incontinent adult) has an accident, you just need to change the protector, not the whole bed.
The first thing that impressed me when I took the mattress protector out of the packaging was how comfortable it felt. It is made of soft breathable quilted cotton and unlike other protectors, you can’t even see or feel the plastic (waterproofing part). The non-slip backing means that not only can you use it on a single bed or cot, you can also use the protector on bigger beds. Just tuck it in the side where the child is sleeping.
Annabelle has been going really well with her potty training and she’s had quite a few dry nights but on the occasion where she does have an accident, it was so much easier to just take off the Lucky Possum mattress protector and (if we had a 2nd one) put the dry one on, knowing that I didn’t have to change the sheets as well.
The Lucky Possum mattress protector is 100% waterproof and super absorbent, holding up to 2 Litres so you don’t have to worry about it leaking through the night. It is fully machine washable and able to be tumble dried so you can ensure that even on rainy days, it will be ready for the next night.
