BANG! That was this last weekend ...

Posted Jan 27 2009 7:45pm

BANG! That was this last weekend! I am so excited to finally be able to be at home for a few weekends, we have some things that need to be done and well I am ready to get them there! But I have to tell you all about my crazy weekend because it may help some of you too!

Remember the wedding; well before you say it I will, I am a freak! The wedding was that of the first guy I EVER dated seriously! He is the greatest guy and due to the fact we ended it as friends and meant it, we have managed to celebrate all the major milestones with the other present since we met! Well until one of us has children, this weekend was it! His wedding was amazing, his family even more so! He is so happy and so it appears is his new wife! He and his family have always been amazing to me and will continue to do so! His parents well his new wife could not ask for better in laws! His mother, Judy, was asking questions about the adoption and if we needed anything and so I was telling her when I knew I would let her know. About half way through the reception, Judy came and found me to ask if I could talk to a friend of hers, who WAS adopting from Guatemala and has a son adopted from Russia. So I said sure, and talk we did (not just us but our husbands as well). We talked about MANY adoption issues and she indicated that she writes a personal blog and another national adoption blog. I enjoyed talking to her and promised to let you guys know about her blogs, she indicated that Monday (tomorrow) she would probably write about Vietnam on this website:

www.achildchosen.com

So please go and read! Let me know what you think! Add it to your bloglines, google or rss reader!

We also spent some time with my Sorority Big Sister, Kat, and her adorable kids on Sunday! Man, do I want a baby now! And it was fun to see her which I don’t think I have spent that much time with her since before she was married seven years ago!

Also, two questions:

(1)    At this same wedding, there was a couple who obviously adopted from an Asian country. Their daughter was so beautiful. I wanted to talk to them so bad BUT knowing that it is a VERY personal issue, I was not about to approach them. Try as I might, I could not come up with a good way to approach them. Any suggestions? (They were friends of the bride or I would have had Judy work her magic again!) I am not one who wants to offend, so therefore I want to be able to approach those who can help me without offending them…any suggestions would be helpful for the next time I am in that situation.

(2)     Remember this post, about being jealous of my sister in law, well Saturday we found out she had a miscarriage. Now I feel VERY guilty for being jealous not to mention, I NEVER talked to her about the pregnancy, so how do I sound sincere (which I am) when I give my condolences? She lost a child, while I have not been there done that, I can feel for her and now I feel like anything I say will be written off, even though it may not be. HELP, I want to sound as sincere as I am and not as guilty as I feel.
