I had a post pretty much done last night but decided to chuck it because all I did was complain about the kids attitude and that's not the way I want to remember "N's" first snowboarding day. I'll give you the better version now. Yesterday morning we all got an early start on the day by waking up at 6am for breakfast and headed up to Snowbowl. If you don't get there early you don't get a parking spot, no spot no snowboarding. Luckily we got there at a good time because we had a prime parking spot, right at the ski lodge so I was stoked. We get there and decide that we want to put "O" in the Skiwee class to (by lying about her age) so that way I could take a snowboarding class with "The Hubby". By the time my snowboard class started I already had two calls about her not being good so I had to return my gear and spend the day walking the slopes watching "The Hubby" and "N" snowboard.
I was told that we could take pictures of the skiwee (snowboard) class but I had to do it from afar so the pics I got where of the back of his helmet. I did get some good video with my Flip though. It was really a long day yesterday for all of us and to top it off I made it longer by having us all go to Sakura Sushi and Teppenyaki in the hotel. It was a tasty dinner but it was just getting way to late for everyone. It was a fun but long weekend. Today I feel bad because at breakfast there were so many meltdowns that I lost track but now we're home, I'm getting laundry done and the kids are being quiet upstairs and I also am watching the Chargers game and thankful that the Eagles won so now the Cardinals have a chance of going to the Super Bowl this year.
It's going to be a pretty easy night because I made arrangements for the Christmas tree to be picked up yesterday, the snowboards are all returned and soon I'll be heading to the store for this weeks groceries. I haven't gone for a run in three days so tomorrow is going to be hard for me I think. I did bring my gear with me but since we woke up so early yesterday and today we all slept in till 8:15am I figured that I would start again tomorrow. I did miss running and was having withdrawal but it's all good. I know that this week will be a little tough some days because the car is finishing up with the estimates, "O" needs some blood work, I'm finally going to Kate's Cup and "The Hubby" will be gone for a few days but I think that we'll make it through it. It was funny because we were up at Snowbowl and waiting for the boys, "O" and I just kind of lounged on the slopes soaking up the sun. I have never been to a ski resort before and it was quite an experience to be out there in the sun and have the snow not melt but you could go without a coat (if you were the one on the slopes). I think next season I'm going to try it and skiing again. I kind of want to move to Colorado since there are tons of skiing places and it seems like you are close to a lot and you can still go to Utah and Oregon. I think I might like getting into it but we'll see, I have been looking to see what will be near us in Chicago and there are quite a few places to go between Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota and I'm sure we will take a trip to either here or Colorado next season.
