I had an interesting experience last week. I was reading one of my fav blogs, (no I haven’t mentioned it before) and commented on the side about not seeing her face in the pic she posted. What I found out quite surprised me! There is another blog that she DOES show her face in. This blog is the one where she can let it all hang out. It is PRIVATE. She emailed me a password so that I could log in to read the posts. And there she is - face and all. (Pretty face by the way) ;) Her first blog - the faceless one - is completely anonymous. She uses pet names for her kids, and hubby, and doesn’t mention her location. And there - on the anonymous blog she can post “censored” material about life, kids, etc. I’m trying to wrap my head around this one: anonymous = censored. And then,
On the PRIVATE blog, that is clearly NOT anonymous, she is “uncensored”. She can just let the beans spill where they may. So… ummmm Uncensored = identity + privacy.
I suppose it is the privacy that makes the big difference. With those posts password protected, then she can be herself, show her face, be uncensored, basically be whoever she wants to be. If someone knows her IRL(in real life) she can keep the posts private. And for someone like myself, who does NOT know her IRL, I get the password, and I think, get to know her better than on her censored blog.
I still don’t get it. Maybe I need more caffeine.
