I absolutely love it when God brings new friends into our lives! Tonight we had the opportunity to go to a photography exhibit at a quaint coffee shop in Richmond. Dr. Robert Davis had some incredible photos on display - amazing photos taken while vacationing in The Galapagos Islands. (You can see some of the photos by visiting his website - click here ). Now, for those of you who know me (and my addiction to "anything medical") - know that I love the show " Big Medicine". What was so cool about tonight? Chase got to meet an incredible photographer - and talk photography for a few hours - and I got to meet the amazing surgeon from "Big Medicine". Yes, the same Dr. Robert Davis. And his wife, Arlene, now feels like an old friend! We sat and talked for over an hour about life, raising kids, being married and some of the awesome things that God has done in our lives! It was just what the doctor ordered....no pun intended. A relaxing, yet stimulating evening of meeting new friends and yet, feeling like you've known each other for years.
We also got to know another photographer - Laszlo Perlaky and his wife, Lexi! You can view some of Laszlo's amazing photos by clicking here. By day, Laszlo is a cancer researcher working at Texas Children's Hospital - but, his other passion is photography! He was born and raised in Hungary, has been published internationally and won many awards.
And, how cool is this? This year, we have decided to take a vacation the week of Thanksgiving. Our plans are to go up to the Witchita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and spend a week relaxing and taking pictures. Well, we have now had a small change of plans......while we are still heading to the Witchita Mountains - we will be meeting up with this amazing photographer and his wife - where Chase will get some incredible "one on one mentoring" with one of the top nature photographers in the world! I am not sure who is more excited about this trip....Chase or Laszlo. Chase is thrilled to get to learn from one of the top photographers in the world - and Laszlo is excited to be able to pass down his "trade secrets" to another generation.
