Africa

Posted Jan 27 2009 6:48pm

Seriously. Doesn’t this look like Africa?

What is that, you ask?

It’s blood. Don’t be afraid. It’s old, dried blood. It happened when I stood up and walked for the first time after my surgery. The surgeon warned me this would happen and that it was normal. He also stressed that I needed to keep the dressing on the next 48 hours as well as keep my leg elevated and no bathing or showering for the same length of time.

Eww!

It almost makes me look forward to Sunday morning when I can remove the dressing, shower and put on my lovely, sexy, WHITE, thigh-length, anti-embolism stocking.

I get to wear this sexy number for 48 hours and then 12 hours a day for the next 7 days. Oh yeah, baby!

In the meantime, here I am convalescing with my leg elevated. I’m bored and I am definitely tired of staring at Africa here. Leave a comment with your favorite blog read of the day.

Oh, I have to leave a very special shoutout to Jon and Jacob who came to the Big Top this afternoon bearing flowers and chocolate, lots of chocolate just because I whined a lot. You guys are wonderful!
