A Little Nip and Tuck

The following is a paid advertorial

I’ll admit it – even though most of the time a chic outfit and the right accessories should be enough to have me feeling confident in my appearance, from time to time I’ve thought about plastic surgery. After all, who hasn’t even once? There is definitely nothing wrong with that, though there are different factors to be considered.

For example, the cost can drastically vary depending on the procedure that you’re considering. According to Cosmetic Surgery News, the average cost for breast augmentation (among the top five most popular procedures in the country, and a favorite for many moms after breastfeeding is over and done with) is about $3,100, and that’s for the surgery alone – never mind the down time from work and the recovery involved! Meanwhile, another popular post-pregnancy trick – the tummy tuck – can set you back a cool $4,100.

Of course, there are reasons behind the price. Neither augmentations nor tummy tucks are the most simple and contained of procedures, and you get what you pay for – which is why it is imperative to make sure that you seek out an experienced, well-qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon. Do your research, and talk to several different surgeons if you have to, but make sure that the two of you are on the same page when it comes to your values, goals, and expectations.

Now, the cost alone of plastic surgery can be enough to put off a lot of people, but if it’s within your means and you have the right motives at heart, then I say, “Go for it!” That said, I’m all about living and shopping within your means, so I ask: what do you think? Would you consider plastic surgery, or is the matter of confidence and self-image nothing a new pair of shoes couldn’t fix? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
