a friend that makes your heart beat so fast

Posted Jul 18 2009 12:03am

Before you read on be warned that you should not look at the pasty, white (but now skinnier) legs in the picture below. Focus instead on the happy faces, especially the happy faces of the boy, the mouse and the dog. But if you must look at the pasty white legs please put on the some shades to decrease the glare and to protect your eyesight.

You were warned!

Daniel’s day at Disneyland yexterday was absolute perfection. The wait time on all the rides he wanted to ride, including the one his mom and dad dragged him onto kicking and screaming because he is FINALLY 40 inches tall and therefore tall enough to ride the Thunder Mountain Railroad, was only 15 minutes. That is freaking crazy for Disneyland in July. The lunch we shared at the Hungry Bear was yummy. And, the best part came as we were leaving the park. There was Mickey Mouse walking his dog Pluto!

Squeee!!!!!

We were able to jump in line behind three other families before the masses came to mob and clamour for their own photo opportunity. Daniel ran up and hugged his old friend, Mickey and hugged and petted Pluto as well. I got a playful squeeze and pinch from Pluto and a quick hug from Mickey too. Daniel’s smile tells the whole story. This was such an amazing day! As we waved our goodbyes and headed out of the park, Daniel grabbed at his chest and exclaimed, “My heart is beating so fast because I am so happy! My friend Mickey came to say goodbye!”

I swear whatever they pay the characters it isn’t nearly enough because everytime I have ever gone to the Happiest Place on Earth they have made my visit so special by making it so magical for my children.
