Well, hard to believe we have made it through this year! It has been one bitch of a year.

This time last year we were gearing up for Violet's first orthopaedic surgery. Now she has been through it and she has done so with huge amounts of complications and delays in her rehab and also the prospect of more surgery in 18 months, which makes me just want to scream!

I know things could be much worse for her and us, but sometimes I feel it would be nice to have a know a complete break from everything. I know this is our 'new normal' but I remember closer to when Violet was born and having to go to so many appointments after being discharged and thinking to myself naively that it would only be for a little while, here we are over 6 years later and still our life is as hectic as it was then.

Last week she finished her first year at school, she received a graduation certificate for completing Kindergarten. It has been a huge year not only with her surgery but also her schooling and the many hiccups that have been ongoing for her at school this year.

I am hoping that with a new year, a new school may also be on the cards for Violet. I am currently on the search...and it's not hard to wonder why when you see the many photos I have taken this year of things gone wrong at that place.

We had our last hospital appointment this week for Violet's sister which was a nice change for Violet not having to be the one. We are looking forward to some appointment and hospital free time at least until the 9th January when it all starts back up for Violet.
