Not long ago I didn't shop any drug stores. Most of my health and beauty items were purchased at Wal-Mart. Then I started reading about the fantastic deals you could get at CVS. I jumped in and went a little crazy, spending more time than I really had searching for the deals and coupons and shopping at the store. Since then I've learned to make CVS fit for me, shopping there when there are great deals on things I need, and not stressing over getting every deal.
And then I noticed the Rite-Aid flier.
Rite-Aid's program works a little differently. Their program is a monthly rebate program. It is called Single Check Rebate. Rebates are offered on certain items, some for the month and some for specific weeks. Generally when I think rebate, I think hassle, but this is really easy. You just enter your receipt number online and they pull up the items you will receive a rebate on. You put in your receipts through the month and at the end of the month request your check.
You do not get the same instant gratification that comes with CVS's ECBs, but a nice big chunk of money is nice too. I just requested my first check. It is supposed to take two to three weeks to come. This week there are some really good deals. Item that are free after rebate include face wash, nail polish, two kinds of shampoo, hair color, light bulbs, and razors. I am heading there this morning.
If you have time to hunt down the deals, I highly recommend Hot Coupon World. There you can find forums discussing deals at all types of stores. The Rite-Aid page is here.
