Many years ago, on a whim, I picked up a pan similar to this Petite Loaf Pan in a clearance aisle. I've come to love this pan, especially around the holidays.
Individual sized loaves are nice for dinner parties, but I mostly use this pan to make gifts. Small loaves of your favorite breads are wonderful additions to you holiday gift baskets, and goody trays. They are perfect when you are making up gifts for a small family, or when you would like to include a variety of bread treats in the gift. I normally use quick breads, but this would also work for yeast doughs. This year I will be making mini loaves of Cranberry Nut Bread, Banana Bread, and Amish Friendship Bread (thanks for the starter Crystal!)
Though these pans aren't not all that expensive, if you don't want to buy a new pan, most quick bread recipes work well in muffin pans, yeast doughs can be made into rolls or shaped into small round loaves to make individual portions.
Individual sized breads make for tasty gifts. Making them in my mini loaf pan, works for me!
