Saving money while chosing your weight loss plan

Posted Jan 17 2010 9:04pm

Did you know that Americans spend approximately $30 billion a year trying to lose weight?

Knowing how to choose a great weight loss program can be an overwhelming task. There are literally hundreds of different weight loss plans to pick. However, with the right research, you can easily choose the weight loss plan that is right for you.

I want to share with you this list - steps when choosing weight loss plan - from e-how.com that will share and comment in this entry.

1-      Choose a program that helps you set realistic goals and aim for gradual weight loss.

Slow weight loss is the key. Do not attempt to lose weight quickly by using a fad diet.   You will have to deal saggy skin.

As you know, I am a witness of the P90X Program from Beachbody; which will cover that part of the issue while losing weight.

Fact: a pound of body fat equates to approximately 3500 calories. So if you have a calorie deficit of 500 calories (meaning that you burn 500 calories more than you eat each day) you would lose approximately one pound per week.

2-      Make sure the plan offers a variety of foods to ensure that you receive all the  nutrients  you need - your diet should include all the recommended daily allowances (RDAs) for vitamins, minerals and protein.

Regardless of which plan you chose, learning the calories that each food has is a very useful.   You can add applications in your phone, or go directly to the web.

Here are some of the websites that I have used:

3-      Select a plan that not only helps you lose weight but teaches you to keep it off. You need to make permanent lifestyle changes to maintain a healthy body.

4-      Consider how much time you are willing to spend on this program. For instance, will you need to attend meetings or counseling sessions?

There are no excuses to find 1 hour off your routine.   All it takes is wearing a clock and setting up a list of priorities.   Making sure that your family and friends are aware of your goals will help you to approach them.

5-      Consider the total cost of the program, including the initial membership fee, special foods, supplements and other features.

When it comes to losing weight, the price doesn’t really say that much about how efficient is the program.   Paying for expensive treatments thinking that they will have quicker results might not be the best option.
