My daughter is sick. She has an ear & eye infection. I hate that. My kids have generally been healthy, but when they do get sick, it's never something easy like a cold or pink eye. I actually took her in to the doctor because her eye was red, and she had a fever last night for a minute that resolved with some Tylenol & Motrin. I work with the pediatricians where I take my kids, and when the Dr. said he didn't like what he saw... I kind of freaked. Apparently, he showed me (blech!) her left ear (same side as conjunctivitis) is full of pus and her tube is embedded. She never complained that her ear hurt! I feel terrible that I didn't notice.
So afterwards we go down to the hospital cafeteria to get her some pink milk and a sandwich. When we were leaving I was letting her walk out with us and she fell flat forward on the concrete. Of course, the nurse who admitted her saw the entire thing... fun. So not only do we get to pick up two antibiotics from the drug store, we will probably need some extra pink band aids.
And, even though she never once complained about her ear hurting... as soon as we got home she told me to "turn it off" and started pulling at her ear. Said she had a "noise" in it. There goes my Mother Of The Year Award.
Today she is refusing to wear a diaper... only pink panties. This could be a good thing, or a bad thing. Potty training is going well when we are home, but now she wants to venture out... ahhh... the joys of public restrooms... did I ever tell you I was a hypochondriac? I don't even want to go there right now.
Hopefully, her ear antibiotic won't burn... and hopefully, her oral antibiotic will be pink.
