Don't get me wrong... I love getting margaritas and nachos after work just like everyone else. But, eventually, it all catches up to you and I'm not buying my expensive jeans in a bigger size. So, ...

This year, I decided that weight lifting was not my thing. For whatever reason, doing multiple reps with weights never really got me fired up or excited. So, I decided to just do yoga and pilates. I like going to classes and I'm able to see progress in my strength. I also like the stress relief element that yoga has been providing me as well. It...

I received a few digital photos of myself from the triathlon I completed earlier this month. Usually, I cringe at those race photos, but this time I noticed I looked intense and fearless. I'm proud of my photos. I worked hard to get to that point.During the days leading up to race day, I was scared, intimidated, curious, eager to learn... there ...

Wow, I didn't realize that I haven't been updating wellsphere in a very, very long time. But, luckily enough, I have been keeping up with my goals towards staying healthy. I completed a half marathon in January, and then, I joined a 5K training program to improve my speed. I am now running 9-10 minute miles instead of the 11-11.5 minute miles I ...

I'm about halfway towards my mileage goal for the half marathon. The weather has been in the 50s lately and has been the perfect conditions for training. Luckily, I joined a wonderful running club a few months ago and they have been helpful in motivating and giving good advice.A few days ago, I ran 6 miles with a couple new people from the runni...

I'm finished with the belly dancing class. I signed up for about 10 classes and only finished half of them. I think a dance class really depends on the quality of the instructor. If you have a great teacher who pays attention to the classes movements and provides good individualized tips, you are very lucky!I'm curious about pilates. I think it ...

Lately, I've been good about working on my arms and abs at home. For some reason when I'm not at the gym, I don't like the thought of doing squats and lunges. A friend of mine recommended resistance bands. I'll have to figure out some new exercises for the legs, thighs, and butt in order to spice things up.Any recommendations out there?

I've tapered off for the past 6 weeks which is probably not a good thing. Unfortunately, my schedule has just been crazy. Isn't that usually the time you need yoga. hee heeSince I'm about a month away from half marathon training and in the middle of holiday craziness, I will make sure to get back on the mat soon. I'm going to check out a Yoga fo...

I was finally able to get in SEVEN strength training sessions this month! There is a gym at my job. So, I would try out weight lifting and swim laps afterwards. I noticed that the swimming help me get more excited about the weights, and I didn't feel so sore the next day. Eventually, I liked the routine and enjoyed the progress I've had so far....

The fall running season is finally here (well at least for now... this is Texas afterall). The weather was nice (non-humid and slightly breezy) and it created a good backdrop for adding another mile to the regime. Since I have a 5K coming up, it's only appropriate to see if I can run the obligatory 3 miles. To answer a previous question, I do a ...

After getting over the shock of turning off my alarm clock, I stumbled about to get my weights and stability ball like a zombie. I decided to do a mix/match workout working on my core, lower body, and a few biceps. As I watched CNN and ESPN this morning, I wondered how these news anchors were able to express such enthusiasm. But, alas, I did th...

This hasn't been a good one for me thus far. I can count the number of weight training sessions I have done with my right hand. There is a strength training class at my work once a week. Perhaps, I will drop in and take a peek... gather some ideas. I find weight training soooooooooo boring. Allright, perhaps, I shall try again.

I am at a comfortable 2 miles right now. As the weather gets cooler, I anticipate that the running will get a little more tolerable. I've got a 5K race at the horizon, and I've signed up for a Half Marathon for January 2008. Slowly but surely... is my mantra for now. :)

I've been going to yoga class for about a month at my work. I like the bonus of getting to leave mid-day and enjoying some free time and stress relief. My flexibility definately needs an improvement. So, I will definately be doing more again this month.
