Simon Barnes arrived at John O'Groats on Saturday, 12th September 2009 to prepare for his marathon run of 871 miles to Lands End in aid of MSRC. He was met by Highland Councilor Willie Mackay along with his wife Glynis. As Simon set off in blustery conditions he was joined on the first few miles by local runner David Hall from The North Highland Harriers.
