LODI, CA - "I used to be a very active person," said Linda Barnard. But she ended up in physical therapy at Lodi Memorial Hospital when Multiple Sclerosis took its toll.
Barnard, a Sacramento resident, was having trouble walking.
"Five years ago, I could walk around Disneyland," Barnard said. "Last year, I tried to go to Disneyland and I could hardly go from one bench to the next and I was using a cane."
MS had disrupted her brain's ability to tell her right foot to move. Barnard said, "I couldn't feel by foot when I was walking. I would trip over things. There was a lot of falling."
Then she heard about a device called the Bioness L300 which was developed in Israel. Barnard discovered Lodi Memorial Hospital was the only facility in the Sacramento Valley which offered the device to patients with mobility issues.
