There is an oil for that - Sweet Orange Oil

Posted Oct 04 2012 3:14am
It's Monday and I am continuing my Essential Oil Series, for those of you that missed the first one you can find it here

Todays feature oil is perfect for a Monday, it is Sweet Orange Essential Oil. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this oil is Sweet and Refreshing!

Here are a few useful tips for using Sweet Orange Oil!

  •  It is an uplifting scent and encourages feelings of joy and happiness
  • It helps ease digestion problems It can help relieve tiredness in pregnancy, especially in the six month  plus mark
  • You can use it to unclog pores if you have oily skin.
  • It has antiseptic properties and can be used to help eliminate toxins and help assist the immune system fighting colds and flus.

I like to add it to a pot of boiling water with a few cinnamon sticks for a nice uplifting but warming house   scent.

Here are a few recipes to use sweet orange oil in to help alleviate the above symptoms.

To alleviate anxiety and insomnia - Vaporize 4 drops of sweet orange and 2 drops of myrtle.

To ease indigestion Add 6 drops of Sweet Orange with 4 drops of Neroli and 4 tspns of a carrier oil. Apply it to the abdomen using circular clockwise strokes twice a day.

If you have a cold or flu blend 6 drops with 4 teaspoons of carrier oils and add to your bath.

Always blend essential oils with Carrier Oils, this can be olive oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil and there are many other carrier oils out there.
