learn to love

Posted Feb 04 2008 10:24am 2 Comments

I’m not sure about you but personally, I believe that leading a well-balanced life is more than just healthy eating and exercise. It also involves having the peace of mind, being surrounded by love and showing kindness and compassion to the less fortunate. Though I can’t trod the path of missionaries and social workers, I can do my part by giving whatever I have afford.

In fact, there are many ways to show your compassion and practice charity. For instance, if you have an unused car, you can give it to those in need and donate car to CarAngel. Car Angel is a non-profit company that uses car and other donations to make videos for kids and teens. To date, they have given away over 2.4 million videos with plans to reach out to more out there.

So my friends, a life of fulfillment requires us to look outwards and show others that we care and love them, even if it’s just giving the little we have. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. So, learn to love.

Very nice post. Thanks for reminding us what is really important in life. Often we forget when we get all caught up in the rat race. Some say that we can only be truly happy when we forget about ourselves and our ego and make our lives about service to others.
Thank you. You're right. Everything we do is part of our wellness. Feeling good about ourselves, our homes (clutter can really damage self-image), our relationships, and our careers is achieved with attention to every part. I donate to a charity drive that comes around each month to my house (and de-clutter in the process) and my husband is part of the local Optimist organization (mostly, they concentrate on kids in the community.) It makes us feel good to be giving something, though small.
