i have numbness on the top of my left thigh

Hi am 14 and am worried as the top of my left thigh feels a bit numb,and recently my year group in school had the polio needle but i didnt as i was scared. But i heard that Polio can paralise your leg and am really scared,i just wanted to know if there are any other symtons or if it is a concern.thanks hayley x
