I thought I would be posting about the *snicker, snicker* 'interesting' holiday week we're having around here, but I changed my post. I received a great email from a friend of mine named the
Pop Art Diva (her real name is Terri but Pop Art Diva is WAY more fitting!) about this great way to donate to The Animal Rescue Site which is a proud partner of Pet Finder.
Strangely enough, Pop Art Diva and I have never met officially but we have become great friends through the internet and share many things in common (though she can keep roller derby!). One of those common interests is a great love for animals.
This Animal Rescue Site has an interesting advertising program. 100% of their ads go to charity and just the maintenance of the website, and they have a great program set up to drive traffic to their site to help rescued animals and support their generous advertisers. Each time someone clicks on the big, purple
"Click Here To Give" button, they donate .6 bowls of food to rescued animals.
I have placed a purple button on the left margin of my blog (look left!) that I will keep there in the hopes that each time you come visit, you might find it in your heart just to click through and donate. It couldn't be easier!
The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the U.S. every year. Over 10 million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
Each click on the purple
"Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button at
The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal living in a shelter or sanctuary. Funding for food and care is paid by site sponsors and distributed to animals in need at the Fund for Animals' renowned animal sanctuaries (including Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Texas and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in California), pet shelters supported by the Petfinder Foundation , North Shore Animal League , and other worthy animal care facilities supported by the GreaterGood.org foundation.
Thanks everybody! You're awesome!
