A Health "System" That Works for You

I'm curious as to whether or not there's a specific health philosophy (i.e., macrobiotics, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, raw food) that informs your daily practices? Or is it more a matter of picking and choosing from different philosophies and deciding what is best for your body/spirit/mind?

Ayurveda for me. On my part, I love the holistic system of Ayurveda (science of life), which pays attention to all parts of the body/mind/spirit. Reenita Malhotra Hora has a wonderful book called "Inner Beauty" that talks about how you can incorporate Ayurvedic practices (like foods, regular oil massage, yoga regimens, detox, sleeping habits, etc.) into your life.

Knowledge is Healthy. Study all aspects of getting in shape, handling stress and eating right. Realize what really works and what is just bogus. 1) Cardio workout is very important and key to keeping the body functioning on all aspects. 2) Eat well and moderately to fuel the body. 3) Live honestly and treat others like you would want them to treat you. Kindness is a beautiful remedy for all social ills. 4) Be religious, spiritual or something that is more than materialistic.
