'Til I Dropped

Posted Aug 26 2008 11:22am
Note to self: Do not go shopping the weekend before Christmas, especially when Christmas is 3 days away. More on that in a minute.

I got an early Christmas gift--the technician doing my bone density scan said everything looked GREAT. BIG WHEW.

SB is having an asthma flare-up again. It used to be just when he got sick; the latest "weather change" kicked it into gear again. Thankfully the doc didn't hear anything else, so he's back on Orapred for 3 days and the nebulizer every 4-6 hours. We're hoping he'll be better for Christmas.

Target has my undying love, especially the pharmacy. We're all on a first-name basis with most of the pharmacists (you don't want to know our monthly prescription costs). The allergist called in SB's albuterol rather late, and we had gone out for a party. By the time we got back, and got the message from Target that his albuterol was filled, it was minutes from closing. I called and the wonderful pharmacist stayed until GM could get up there. She was there today, and I got to thank her again. I *heart* Target.

Finished the quilts. I've been taking Vicodin like, well, House, but they are done. I watched 2 seasons of Buffy and a few movies over the past few weeks ;) Nothing says Happy Holidays like watching "Amends" (aka A Very Special Buffy Christmas Special).

So back to shopping.....was at our last stop, to pick up SB's prescription. I was getting out of the car, my foot caught on the seat and my left elbow stopped me from taking a header onto the pavement. I know I'm not supposed to take that whole "shop 'til you drop" thing literally LOL. My elbow is swollen and purple. Thank goodness I finished the quilts.

I am really disaster girl....Gandalf my fish got another rock stuck in his mouth, right before the Judo party. As I popped it out with a bobby pin, I nicked something in his mouth. He was bleeding so badly, I freaked. I gently held him in the water in a washcloth so I could apply some gentle pressure, and thankfully it stopped. So far, he is doing well. I picked up some DAMN BIG ROCKS today at the petstore. I'm done with Goldfish Rescue 911.

At the Judo party, DQ got "most improved" judoka (Joshi) and got a lovely Judo necklace. Since she's been there for 2 months, we are so proud and her Sensei are very impressed. Her mouth is feeling better with her braces and everyone has been so kind to her. She's finished her homework (one of my pet peeves--I hate it when they give homework over holidays). So now it's veg time.

I can't wait for the kids to unwrap their "big" gift. I'm not going to mention it on the off-chance that DQ pops over here (she's been online more to email her girlfriends). Let's just say we are rocking parents ;)
