The dilation drops have mostly worn off. Finally. The pain is better, we'll see how tomorrow goes.
My stomach is the pits. It figures, just as my headaches and widespread pain are at an all-time low in years, I am debilitated by my stomach issues, which I believe go further than "just" IBS.
Ah Google, my friend. I try to Google just enough for info but not enough to freak me out. And I found more than one article from reputable sources regarding "chronic diarrhea after gallbladder removal". LIGHTBULB! I have been saying how things have been worse ever since but now I had proof--it wasn't just me.
The short of it--without the gallbladder, the body can make too much bile salts, which act like a laxative. I may be one of the unlucky few to develop this (and I'm sure my IBS doesn't help). There are treatments, but no cure.
I plan on printing out the articles to take to Dr. Awesome next week. I'm not sure that's the only thing going on in my body, but it's a start. I'm just frustrated because no one said having my gallbladder out could result in this. And I'm ready to GET MOVING already. I have things to do, people to see, and I'm quickly tiring of this bland diet. I've kept off the 9lbs I lost when I was sick (yay!) but ready to push forward.
