Nerves of....Mush

Posted Sep 11 2008 8:20pm
First off, a great big BOO to my 3 year Painiversary of Chronic Daily Headache. It's my party, I'll cry if I want to. My headaches (and pain in general) have been off the charts bad lately. I actually broke out the Indocin instead of using my Cataflam.

That with my vicodin knocked me out until 1 a.m., which is why I am still up. Thankyouverymuch. I finished watching Moulin Rouge (had begun this afternoon while lying on the couch with an icepack). I've been wanting to see it again ever since going to see Across the Universe. OH MY GOODNESS. It was so awesome, I know it's Beatles' music, but I have to buy the Deluxe Edition Soundtrack. The only thing it lacked was "Imagine". But if you love musical films, GO SEE THIS. I had to wait forever for it to come here, but it was worth the wait. I will buy this when it comes out on DVD.

Anyway. Nerves.

I visited my primary care doc today for a Nerve Conduction test. For reasons I can't discuss here (legal). Basically they hook up little electrodes and then ZAP THE HELL OUT OF YOUR NERVES. It beats the Neuro version--which includes NEEDLES and ZAPPING. No thanks. I had to do some serious breathing to keep me from crying. Thankfully each test (5 in all) was only 30 seconds to 1 minute long. But STILL. Think twitching and the added pleasure of a Nail Gun. And it aggrevated my headache and I had some painful twitching tonight. I will get the results next week.

One of the funny parts was that the nurse had to mark certain points with a Blue Sharpie to make sure the electrodes lined up. So I have blue dots and lines on me--which Superboy found hysterical. Mainly because he decided to measure the kitchen floor this weekend. Except his tape measure wasn't long enough. So he got a Green Sharpie (!!!) and drew a line acros the floor (and then left a Zorro-like signature at the end). He also left some flourishes on the cabinets. And the cat got in his way so SHE has green marks on her legs and side.

Being a 5 1/2 year old boy who got an illegal marker and drew on the floor, he vehemently denied it. ::Sigh:: We've had an issue with telling the truth lately. Even with the evidence of his initial, denial. So GM decided to fake him out and tell him he was going to check the fingerprints on the marker. SB's eyes got VERY big and he flipped his hands over to look at said fingerprints--and his hands were covered with marker. BUSTED. Yes we had a hard time holding in the laughter until he was in another room.

DQ started Judo with SB and *loves* it. In her words "It's cool....it's fun....it's like ANGER MANAGEMENT!" LMAO We're done with Volleyball, so she'll begin Piano lessons again. A friend loaned us the most PRECIOUS little 1/4 sized violin, so SB will begin lessons with GM soon. It's funny.....DQ always wanted to play piano, but SB has always insisted on violin. He is over the moon.

There will be some new posts up at Quilt-A-Palooza, a new post is on Slayer in Training, and! I will have some things listed on The Crafty Angel. Plus some more Willow pictures soon (she's now about 20 lbs). I just wish I felt better. Too much to do, too much pain.
